Former Lommel SK coach and player Harm van Veldhoven has explained why he thinks Manchester City's parent company has invested in the club.
City Football Group (CFG) announced the purchase of the Belgian second division side last week, making them the ninth team across the globe to be owned in some capacity by Blues bosses.
Debts of around £1.75m will be wiped out as part of the deal that sees Lommel become the third European club in the stable after City themselves and Spanish side Girona.
The group also have full or part ownership of teams across four other continents: New York City, Melbourne City, Yokohama F Marinos, Montevideo City Torque, Sichuan Jiuniu and Mumbai City.
