dog, who has been nicknamed Toothless by his rescuers, has been branded a miracle after suffering barbaric abuse at just nine months old in the US.

Royal Animal Refuge, based in Metro Atlanta, believes that someone ripped out most of his teeth so he would be unable to defend himself when being forced to fight. "The vet told us it was not a professional job," said Mariel Weigand, Director of Royal Animal Refuge. The rescue group said they were alerted by an animal shelter and decided to foster him as they continue to monitor his health. After taking Toothless in, they discovered he was suffering from Parvo, a deadly canine disease that is highly contagious, reports Fox 5.They considered his condition as extremely fragile but have seen a positive development in his health since receiving medical care. The refuge wrote on Facebook: "We could not say no to taking him in and he quickly stole all of our hearts."Please keep Toothless in your thoughts, we know he’s a little fighter and we are confident that he will continue to fight!"Royal Animal Refuge has launched a desperate appeal to help fund his medical treatment."We hate to ask for donations but as a rescue, we really struggle with medical costs and rely solely on the generosity of our community," they added."We are so thankful to have such a great support system to save dogs like Toothless."It has been confirmed that Toothless will be available for adoption once he is released from veterinary care.
