Wedding menu 'laced with weed' as bride arrested and guests in hospital

felony charges after allegedly dosing unwitting wedding guests with a weed-infused menu which sent several to hospital.Bride Danya Shea Glenny Svoboda, 42, and caterer Joycelyn Montrinice Bryant, 31, were charged with delivering marijuana, tampering with guests' food and misdemeanour culpable negligence.Both Svoboda and Bryant turned themselves in to the Seminole County Sheriff's Department in Florida, and have since been released ahead of their June 7 arraignment.

One guest at the reception told police that he'd texted the groom asking whether the food had been drugged after his wife fell ill and was taken to hospital, with Andrew Svoboda allegedly saying he didn't know.Police asked Andrew whether guests had either requested or consented to the food offerings, with reports saying he allegedly "stared at Deputy Donald Schwaezman with a blank expression for a few moments before replying 'no'".Deputies on the scene took samples of food and cutlery for testing, including a bowl, several glasses, a plate and a "handful of lasagna [that] was taken directly from a large container of lasagna that was placed out during the event.'"Concerned guests attempted to ask the best man, a Department of Justice employee, what was happening, but he was allegedly unresponsive, police say.One woman told police she felt "numb, helpless and her mind was playing strange things in her head," adding that she believed her son-in-law had died and her family hadn't told her.At the hospital, police wrote she was "loud and unruly and had to be given something to calm down."Another guest was vomiting profusely, police said, and one guest was "so drugged that he was having difficult[y] operating his cellphone to order an Uber" to take him to.
