Ukrainian family who fled war placed in filthy UK flat including old nappy in the fridge

Ukrainian family that fled their war torn country to Scotland were met with a filthy flat that had an old nappy in the fridge.Valeria Liukovych, 31, brought her child, husband and severely disabled father to be with her mother, Tamara, to the UK in the hopes of escaping awful conditions. But the council flat they were given in Rutherglen, near Glasgow, was a filthy pit with dirt everywhere and even had a nappy resting in the fridge. The family have had to squeeze in beside Tamara and her husband Stephen Ross instead of living out of the filthy flat offered to them on their arrival.Stephen said: "After all they have been through, I could not have allowed them to stay their first night in filth. I was horrified when I opened the fridge and there was an old nappy in it, beside congealed milk and butter."The freezer is full of dirty water with horrible bits floating in it and the cooker is disgusting.

I was in the position coming under direct fire."I really don't know – the only thing I can think of is some shrapnel or possibly some sparks got into the ammo bunker and something set those off."It was just like a huge fireball, with the blast coming through the position and pretty much burnt everything off me and I assumed the other guys."I could feel the blast hitting me and when it stopped, I was on fire, so I jumped out of the pit, got some dirt and put the fire out." 'Dirty rain' turns UK windows filthy – but Mrs Hinch fan hack will have them sparkling
rain was so dirty yesterday in the UK.Apparently, a dense fog of dust and sand travelled across Europe so that when rain fell on Britain it dragged the dirt down to land on our windows, cars and paving stones. The strangely brown rain was caused by Saharan dust clouds which were carried on winds across the continent – and this is why there was an orangey hue to the sky and the rain. The Met Office explained: “In order for the dust to get from up in the sky down to the ground, you need something to wash it out of the sky – rain.“As raindrops fall, they collect particles of dust on the way down. Then when the raindrops land on something and eventually evaporate, they leave behind a layer of dust.”And, the Met Office tweeted: “Whilst this #dust is mostly about 2km above ground level, some deposits may fall to the ground, especially during today’s rain in southern parts of the UK”.But, now that the Saharan dust seems to have passed from our skies we’re all left with mucky windows – so how can you get them to sparkle once again?Well, a Mrs Hinch fan has come to the rescue with her cleaning solution for gleaming streak-free windows. And, she uses two common household products dissolved in water.Stacie Downs made a video of her nifty trick and shared it on the Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It Facebook group.
Teen knocked off dirt bike by kangaroo breaks back and ruptures spleen
A teenager nearly died after a kangaroo jumped into her off-road motorbike, sending her crashing to the ground.Jemima Song, 14, and her sister Isabel were riding their dirt bikes in a pine grove at a farm in western Victoria, Australia, when the accident happened. The kangaroo leaped from the trees "out of the blue" and collided with the front wheel of Jemima's bike.Isabel saw her sister lying motionless in the dirt and called their dad."I was on the ground lying there and she was wondering if I was faking it or not so she tried to pick me up to see if I was okay but I wasn't," Jemima said. The teenager was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.Jemima's dad, David Song, was horrified by his daughter's wounds and thought she might die.He said: "The worst fear was going through my mind that we were going to lose her."She had this massive trauma to the left side of her body, it looked like she had just been hit by a car."Jemima suffered eight fractures to her spine, a ruptured spleen, and a ruptured liver, as well as internal bruising. She told Nine News the first thing she remembered after the accident was waking up in the air ambulance."In the helicopter, my dad is taking a photo of me and I'm giving a thumbs-up," Jemima says.MICA flight paramedic Stuart Hill said Jemina could have died if not for her helmet and protective gear, describing her as "really lucky".Jemima spent 10 days in the hospital recovering from her injuries and went back to school just two days after returning home. The teen said she didn't eat in the first six days following the accident because her stomach "shut down" but she then made a swift recovery."I wasn't really concerned about it, I just wanted to get back on the
