World War Three may “have already started”.Zelensky was speaking to journalists after his address to the US Congress last night.
After repeating his call for a no-fly zone over Ukraine, in a bid to stop Russia's invasion, he then gave a stark warning about all out war.
He told NBC News presenter Lester Holt: “Nobody knows whether it may have already started. And what is the possibility of this war if Ukraine will fall, in case Ukraine will?“It’s very hard to say.“And we’ve seen this 80 years ago, when the Second World War had started, nobody would be able to predict when the full scale war would start.“The whole (of) civilization (is) at stake.” He also took stock of the fact that Russia has been unable to take over his country in the 72 hours Russian president Vladimir Putin had initially planned on.
Calling the Ukrainian people “unconquerable”, he said: “This is what our people have clearly demonstrated.“Even those settlements that were ruined to ashes by Russian artillery, even those settlements were left unconquered by Russians.”The address to the US Congress comes just a week after similar historic messages to the UK Parliament and the Canadian version. But the warning of all-out war comes as news of Russian soldiers holding 100 Chernobyl technicians 'like prisoners in a concentration camp', broke yesterday (Thursday, March 17).
