Britain is set to be drenched by yet another weekend washout as more spells of heavy rain sweep the country. The nation is bracing for more wet weather on Saturday and Sunday that will last into next week, as well as strong winds.

The Met Office is predicting showers while BBC Weather is also forecasting a “risk of hail and thunder”. And weather forecast maps on WXCharts show wind gusts could push up to 60mph in some areas.

It comes as parts of the UK are still recovering from the floods caused by Storms Ciara, Dennis and Jorge in recent weeks. The first band of rain is set to sweep in on Saturday night and last through until Sunday morning before dying out.
