Brits will once again reaching for their brollies this weekend, with torrential rain expected to soak the country from Saturday morning.
Cloud and outbreaks of rain were expected to creep in by mid-morning today, with forecasters warning the wet weather was here to stay despite it being the height of summer.
Met Office meteorologist Clare Nasir said "no one was immune" to the downpours expected to hit the country this weekend. The morning will bring a dose of heavy rain to areas of northern England, southern Scotland and Wales, she said.
