Brits are in for a washout weekend as heavy rain and thunderstorm are set to sweep across the country. Staycations will be ruined days after school holidays started, with rain hitting the South-West – popular with tourists – and the Midlands and North.
Temperatures are set to plummet due to an Atlantic jetstream and gusts of wind up to 50mph are predicted on Monday. The Environment Agency has also warned there could be localised flooding in parts of the country.
Heavy rain and gusts of wind are forecast on Saturday, with showers continuing into Sunday and next week. Met Forecaster Tom Morgan told the Mirror Online: "We are getting some changeable and unsettled period for all parts of the UK over the weekend and most place s will see rains
