Forecasters are not ruling another record-breaking day for scorching temperatures - with a possibility Friday could reach as high as 39C.
This time last week, Brits boiled in a one-off scorcher with Heathrow recording 37.8C - the third hottest day ever in the UK.
And regardless of whether we reach those sorts of highs again today - one thing is more certain: it's the start of a new heatwave.
BBC forecaster Nick Miller described it as " weather deja vu" but "unlike last week it's here to stay for a few days - for parts of England and Wales, it's the start of a heatwave".
