Britain is set for another drenching with the weekend likely to be a total wash out for many. Thunderstorm warnings remain in place for large parts of the UK after heavy downpours and flash flooding brought disruption to roads and railways.
Temperatures were cooler on Thursday compared to the rest of the week, with the mercury reaching 29.8C in Porthmadog, Wales.
It was the first time temperatures have not gone above 30C in seven days, according to the Met Office. And the mercury is set to dip further.
Highs of 23C on Saturday in the south show a drop of more than 10C in just a couple of days - though forecasters warn heavy humidity will remain.
