The summer is ready to fight back with scorching 31C heat on Friday - but before that some of us have got to withstand winds in excess of 50mph.
It's been a miserable start to the week and that trend is set to continue on Tuesday with downpours and heavy wind gusts - 53mph in parts of Scotland - by the afternoon.
But incoming high pressure will allow temperatures to steadily climb with Friday soaring into the 30s for the first time this month, albeit on the final day of July.
