Brits are being warned not to expect any let up from the current cold snap set to continue throughout today and last until at least Tuesday.
The Met Office is warning that Sunday will bring more cold weather as temperatures across the country struggle to rise above freezing.
Fog will coat patches of the country this morning with spells of rain for the Midlands and north of England. It will be fine elsewhere but still cold after heavy snow fell in northern England on Friday and 'thundersnow' hit Scotland.
The mercury plunged to -9.6C on Thursday night into Friday. Temperatures have warmed slightly since, but low temperatures in parts of Scotland are expected again into Sunday morning.
