Britain is set for a washout in the coming days as torrential rain and gale force winds move back in and temperatures plummet.
Heavy downpours and fierce gusts made for an unsettled night into Thursday, after the UK was lashed with multiple bands of rain yesterday - most severely in Scotland.
As a result, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued 11 flood warnings and 13 alerts today. Temperatures dropped as low as 4C in parts during the early hours, with Met Office forecaster Alex Burkill predicting it could be "cold enough for a touch of frost in some sheltered spots".
