Britain is set to "turn dramatically colder" over the bank holiday weekend, despite a 23C heat surge expected in the next few days.
BBC weather forecaster Ben Rich said once the high temperatures pass the UK will be dragged into an unseasonal cold snap with potential for wintry showers. "It is going to turn dramatically colder," the meteorologist warned. "A plunge of cold air is going to work its way across all parts of the UK, unusually for the time of year. "There could be wintry showers," he added.
This comes after the Met Office issued a yellow warning with strong winds for the west of the country, including Cornwall, Devon and Wales yesterday evening.
