Police were originally called to reports of a stabbing on Eric Bullows Close in Woodhouse Park on Thursday (25 March). A large number of emergency services responded to the incident at around 8.50pm.
Two men, aged 50 and 25, had been hit with a hammer, police said. They were both taken to hospital with head injuries and have since been discharged.
An investigation has been launched by GMP, who say enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made. Local residents reported seeing a number of emergency vehicles on Eric Bullows Close following the incident.
