There was standing room only at Perth Crematorium as family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to one of Perth’s “grand old men.” Stan McRae (93), who was well-known through his decades of work in the licensed trade, died peacefully in Perth Royal Infirmary on December 6, with his daughter Isabel, grand-daughter Janice and grandson Michael by his side.In a wide-ranging and often humorous eulogy, humanist celebrant Diane McLeish paid tribute to his “wonderful gifts of kindness, strength, acceptance, generosity and love”.She added: “Best barman in town, a class act, a true gentleman, one of a kind, a lovely guy, one of the best - a pure legend!
