‘Graphic’ details of Bob Saget’s death blocked from release to prevent ’emotional distress’ to family

Bob Saget have been granted a temporary injunction to block the release of records from the investigation into his death, which were said to contain ‘graphic’ details.On January 9, the late Full House actor and stand-up comedian died aged 65 in Orlando, Florida, with his cause of death later revealed to have been due to a head injury.It was recently reported that his family had filed for a temporary and permanent injunction to stop sensitive information concerning his death from being released to anyone but his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and daughters.A court ruling has since stated that sharing such information would cause Saget’s family ‘severe mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress’.Documents obtained by the PA news agency outlined: ‘The court finds that plaintiffs will suffer irreparable harm in the form of severe mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress if the requested temporary injunction is not granted.’The legal move to prevent the death investigation records from being released was brought on behalf of Rizzo and Saget’s daughters against the Orange County Sheriff’s office and the medical examiner’s office.In the documents, it said that some of the records ‘graphically depict Mr Saget, his likeness or features, or part of him, and were made by defendants’.‘Upon information and belief, certain news and media outlets have filed or plan to file public records requests… requesting defendants release the records to the public,’ it said.It continued: ‘For the reasons stated herein, plaintiffs seek a temporary and permanent injunction precluding defendants from releasing the records to anyone except plaintiffs as the surviving spouse and daughters of Mr Saget, or to plaintiffs designee.’The temporary injunction will.
