Tim Roth is attached to star in writer-director Welby Ings' debut feature, Punch, with The Yellow Affair unveiling the New Zealand boxing drama to buyers at the virtual Toronto Film Festival market this week.
Roth will play Stan, a coach and alcoholic father to Jim, a 17-year-old boxer in a small town. As Jim prepares for his first professional fight, he rethinks his life’s path and his sexuality and dreams of leaving town.
No word on casting for Jim and other roles for the New Zealand drama set to start production on Nov. 9, ahead of a late 2021 planned release.
