German majorLeoninehas snatched up the rights for Germany to Guy Ritchie's Miramax spy thriller Five Eyes, starring Jason Statham, during the Toronto Film Festival's virtual market.
The pre-sale deal was reached with STXinternational, which is handling worldwide rights to the movie, which is expected to start shooting in Europe in November.STXfilms will distribute it directly in the U.S., UK, and Ireland.
Statham will play Orson Fortune, a MI6 guns-and-steel agent recruited by the Five Eyes global intelligence alliance, which consists of the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand, to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology.
