A young boy was left with head injuries after being hit by a cyclist at a popular moorland beauty spot.The three-year-old had been out walking with his family near Rivington Pike in Bolton when the crash happened at around 4pm yesterday.The incident occurred close to the tower at the top of the pike and paramedics contacted Bolton's Mountain Rescue Team to help because of the lack of access to the area.Fortunately, a passing member of the public was able to bandage up the youngster's head before emergency services arrived and his injuries were not severe.In a statement, a spokesman for Bolton Mountain Rescue, said: "At 3.55pm yesterday (Sunday) the team was contacted by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) who were requesting our assistance.
