A £5 water jug from Poundland could save households over £300 a year. Household prices are set to rise from the 1st of April as price caps increase, and households will be looking for alternative, cheaper solutions to ease the pressure.

Poundland's AQUAPHOR water filters claim they can help ease increasing bills, by helping people who regularly buy water. READ MORE: AQUAPHOR has calculated that using a water filter jug could save between £300 per annum for a single person and £700 for a household of four.

In a statement, AQUAPHOR's MD, Nigel Wheeler, said: "We wipe out the need for obtaining clean water from the constant purchase of plastic bottles, we also reduce impact on the environment in terms of single-use plastics. "Even low-cost plastic water bottles regularly purchased from Tesco adds up and can end up costing you up £1,000 a year," says Wheeler. "That's the extra spend households are going to have to find from the 1st April just to tread water." "It's simple economics.

AQUAPHOR keeps money in your back pocket, staving off the energy price hike." According to AQUAPHOR, over 30% of households in Britain now have water filter jugs as an alternative to expensive plastic bottled water.
