ITV boss Kevin Lygo says they are looking for an "alternative" to I'm A Celebrity - but says he still plans for the 2020 series to go ahead. The popular reality series looked to be under threat as the coronavirus shut down production on most of the TV schedule.

ITV's biggest shows including I'm A Celebrity, Love Island, Corrie and Emmerdale are in crisis with the axe looming because of the coronavirus lockdown.

Love Island could be cancelled “very soon” after show bosses ruled out filming the upcoming summer series of the show in Cornwall. ITV boss Kevin Lygo revealed that the channel is “running out of time” to make the second 2020 series work amid the current coronavirus pandemic.The news was shared at the Edinburgh Television Festival, in which he dismissed claims that the programme could be filmed in Cornwall instead of Majorca.

EMMERDALE will run out of episodes in May and TV bosses are considering a raft of measures get filming again as soon as possible. ITV boss Kevin Lygo revealed that actors could be tested for coronavirus when they return to set during a (virtual) chat at the Edinburgh Television Festival.
