A Withington takeaway will be allowed to stay open until 1am after an earlier attempt to shut at 5am was rejected by city licensing chiefs.Pepe’s Piri Piri received objections from police, Manchester council licensing and a residents’ group with concerns about litter and noise in Wilmslow Road.One resident told a licensing hearing that a ‘rat the size of a rabbit’ had been spotted amongst overflowing bins in the area.The fast food restaurant, which has only recent opened having taken over an empty unit, agreed to reduce their hours to 1am for customers while staying open until 3am for deliveries.But the council’s licensing subcommittee decided to keep a 1am finish both for service and deliveries Monday to Sunday.Santhosh Kodari, the manager.
