officers from the Leigh Neighbourhood team, District Tasking team and Tactical Dog Unit carried out a drugs warrant on a home in Maple Crescent, Leigh.

Along with a small amount of cannabis, a number of knives, swords and shotgun ammunition were also seized. Sharing news of their haul on social media, officers from GMP Leigh, Atherton & Hindley also said that they spotted an empty car in nearby Linden Grove, which they recognised after it "made off" from them last week.

Checks revealed that the car had false registration plates and that it had actually been stolen during a robbery on November 11.A spokesman for GMP Leigh, Atherton & Hindley added: "The vehicle was recovered for forensic analysis and will later be reunited with the owner."Ge.
