SHERIDAN Smith teared up as she shared an emotional moment with a contestant on Starstruck. The actress choked back tears after one of the performers returned to singing on the ITV show for the first time since her dad died.
The young singer from Swansea struggled to get back to singing after losing her dad, but returned to the stage to impersonate Celine Dion. "I just wanted to say, my dad died too and it's so hard," Sheridan told the singer. "I stopped singing too." Sheridan's 80-year-old father passed away in 2016 after a battle with cancer.
She originally pulled out of a performance of Funny Girl at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory Theatre when she learnt of his illness.
Sheridan also cancelled her Royal Variety performance immediately after his death. Fans watching at home were moved by Sheridan's emotional revelation.
