Hearts and Partick Thistle's legal challenge before making their next move. A joint announcement from the two clubs earlier on Wednesday confirmed they had lodged a petition with the Court of Session to contest the "unfair and unjust" move to relegate them.

Thistle have been dumped into League One while Hearts are set to begin next season in the Championship, with the statement insisting they will pursue compensation if the decision is not overturned.

As a last resort, the challenge could put a block on the start of the new season if demands are not met.SPFL bosses have seven days to respond and will take legal counsel over the next week.
