Shelley Duvall has taken part in a rare interview reflecting on her experience filming classic horror film The Shining. The 71-year-old actress, who played Wendy Torrance in the Stanley Kubrick classic, opened up about the pressure of filming some of the most dramatic scenes in the 1980 movie.
Shelley, who has not worked as an actress since 2002, has been reclusive in recent years. Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter from close to her home in Texas Hill County, the retired actress reflected on the 'difficult' filming process which included countless re-takes. "[Kubrick] doesn't print anything until at least the 35th take," she explained to the publication. "Thirty-five takes, running and crying and carrying a little boy, it gets hard.
