Sheffield United forward Oli McBurnie appeared to stamp on a Nottingham Forest supporter following their Championship play-off semi-final second leg at the City Ground.

The Scotland international forward, who has been on the sidelines since April with a foot injury, was on the playing surface alongside Forest fans who had invaded the pitch following their win on penalties.A viral video appears to show the 25-year-old thrust his leg towards the ground, where a supporter was lying on his back after falling over - but it is not clear if he made contact.

Sheffield United are aware of the footage in question but declined to comment. McBurnie did not feature in the fixture, in which Morgan Gibbs-White and John Fleck forced extra-time after winger Brennan Johnson made it 3-1 to the hosts on aggregate.Striker McBurnie joined the Blades in August of 2019 on a four-year deal for a fee of £17.5million having impressed with Swansea in the second tier.The former Bradford City man has scored seven goals across his 87 league outings for the club, who were relegated last year, and is yet to find the net in 16 appearances for his country.In an unrelated incident on the pitch, a man was arrested following an assault on Blades skipper Billy Sharp.After the match, manager Paul Heckingbottom had said: "We've seen one of our players attacked."Bill was minding his own business off the pitch, trying to get our players away."He was blindsided, it was cowardly.
