Scots tot, 2, tragically dies four days after horror smash in Highlands on A99

highlands. Police have today confirmed that little Iain Mackay, from Wick, passed away at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow after the smash on the A99.

Emergency services raced to the road at Occumster around 4.45pm on Sunday when a blue Peugeot 208 collided with a blue Nissan Qashqai.

Iain was rushed to hospital but sadly could not be saved and has died as a result of his injuries.The 25-year-old female driver and 26-year-old women passenger, both from the Peugeot, were also raced to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.The 44-year-old female driver of the Nissan was also seriously injured in the crash and taken to Raigmore Hospital.Road Policing officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward, especially.
