Following the cold winter months, it's normal for hands to emerge out from underneath gloves looking less than their best – a little drier, a little crepier, a little grey-tinged.
And this year they’ve had it harder than most, facing constant showerings of sanitiser, plus the absence of access to professionals to keep them buffed, pampered and plumped.
So it probably comes as no surprise to learn that interest in at-home hand products has followed the trend of skin and hair, and risen dramatically.
Beauty brand Mavala noted that 71 per cent of its sales over the last year were for nail care items, with customers prioritising cuticle oils and nail strengtheners over colourful polishes.
