Slipknot played their 2008 track ‘Gematria (The Killing Name)’ for the first time ever this week – check out the footage below. The band were playing the first of a mini-tour of Australia on Friday night (February 28) in Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse when they decided to dig into their catalogue to give the track its live debut. ‘Gematria (The Killing Name)’ was first released on their fourth studio album ‘All Hope Is Gone’ in 2008, and frontman Corey Taylor has said in the past that despite him loving the song himself, the rest of the band would never “never play it”, telling All Things Music in 2023: “Unless the Pope ends up opening up for Slipknot someday, that shit will never happen”.

Slipknot‘s Eloy Casagrande has revealed that his mask is a tribute to the culture of his home country Brazil, as well as to the late Joey Jordison.Casagrande plays in an all-white mask – similar to Jordison’s classic mask – which has a bullet wound in the forehead.“The mask was something I did with Clown,” he said on the Modern Drummer podcast. “The first thing he asked me at the beginning is like, ‘Can we have a white mask for you?’ The first thing to bring back Joey’s memory. Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg has revealed that he’s planning to record a solo album this year.Weinberg – who joined Slipknot in 2014 and was sacked from the Iowan metal outfit in November 2023 – took to social media to share his plans for the new year on December 31.Though now a drummer for punk legends Suicidal Tendencies, Weinberg has shared that he plans to “record more music in the studio” this year. This will seemingly take shape as his debut solo project – which he says has been in the works for years, and will seeming see him play guitar as well.He wrote on Instagram: “One of my ambitions for 2025 is to record more music in the studio — starting with my own material I’ve been writing for quite a while.

Slipknot broke out some rarities and deep cuts in London last night (December 20) as part of their huge 25th anniversary tour. Over the past 12 months, the band have welcomed former Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande into the line-up and delighted fans by breaking out deep cuts and rarities for the first time in over two decades.“It’s been good to do this with newer members, but I do miss Joey [Jordison, late drummer] and Paul [Gray, late bassist],” Clown told NME.

Slipknot‘s Clown has shared details of his worst ever on-stage injury.The founding member and percussionist (real name Shawn Crahan) was recently interviewed by Vulture, where he opened up about the grisliest injury he suffered on stage.Though Crahan admitted he’s had “a lot” of injuries, “the one that’s really done me in was when I ripped my bicep in half on stage by hitting a keg with a bat.”“If you know anything about a bicep, it’s basically two wires, one on each side that holds the muscle in place — kind of like rubber bands that connect up by your shoulder,” he explained. “I ripped both those fuckers.

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan revealed their favourite rockstar masks and opened up about their various music feuds while going head-to-head on Hot Ones Versus.The metal musicians appeared on the viral online show, which sees celebrities take on “hot questions and even hotter wings”. During the Q&A segment, Clown asked Taylor to rank three of his most notorious rockstar feuds with Limp Bizkit, Machine Gun Kelly and Nickelback.“I love that this is coming up as I’m doing all this work on myself,” the frontman laughed before revealing his ranking.The singer prefaced his answer by admitting that “a lot of the things that I said were based off of my own ego, my own insecurities, my own arrogance”.Answering with that “ugly ego”, however, Limp Bizkit came out on top.

He and Blum already share three daughters, Violet, Harper and Ophelia.The following, a post went viral claiming that the newborn baby girl was being named Roxie Junie Grohl, and that she was “truly a Grohl through and through”. The post was debunked as fake, with Grohl’s representatives confirming as such to NME.Now, Corey Taylor – a longtime friend of Grohl – has commented on the situation, which has led to Foo Fighters cancelling their Soundside Music Festival performances this past weekend.Taylor appeared on a recent episode of the Your Mom’s House podcast, hosted by comedian couple Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky, where he was asked to share his thoughts on the “messy” situation.

Slipknot founding member and drummer Joey Jordison has settled its lawsuit against the band for profiting off his death.Earlier this year, the Jordison estate announced that it had filed a lawsuit against Slipknot in June last year claiming that the band continued to use Jordison’s name and personal belongings “in a travelling Slipknot museum called Knotfest and lined their pockets with profit off of Jordison’s devoted fanbase” despite promising that they would return his belongings to his family after he was fired from the band in 2013.Now, per a Blabbermouth report, Jordison’s estate has filed as of September 17 an unconditional settlement of the lawsuit. Details surrounding the settlement have not been made public.In the original lawsuit filed, Jordison’s estate also commented on the band’s reaction following Jordison’s death: “Perhaps worst of all, Crahan and [Corey] Taylor publicly lied to fans that they had contacted Jordison’s family to check on them and express their condolences and love for Jordison in the wake of his passing.
