The policy advises that “visible tattoos”, “heavy jewellery” or “designer labelled apparel” was strictly off limits. Bedouin, which serves Middle Eastern cuisine and doubles as a night club, claimed it wanted guests to feel comfortable.
The venues co-licensee Poata Okeroa told the Daily Telegraph: “We value our customers and community stakeholders, and have always implemented house rules that include a dress policy that discourages intimidating appearances.”And, the rules have divided locals – with various politicians in the area debating the subject.
