Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

That same vibe is mirrored in the classy black and white visuals, with the sparse and sandy backdrop of the LA desert acting as a canvas on which the pair express their feelings of intimacy and lust. "Play 2" is the first new material from both solo artists this year, with Powell dropping his debut project Dusk & Dawn last year and Ojerime having released her B4 I Breakdown in 2020.
Both are working on new music for this year. Speaking to The FADER via email, Powell said: "This video lifts us out of this world in a similar way the song does.
It’s kinda extraterrestrial. The natural shape of the boulders seems similar to 'Play 2'’s artwork, mirroring the contouring of our bodies.
