A pub landlord was caught serving pints in lockdown 40 minutes after police warned him to stop - but the boozer has avoided a lengthy closure.
A council licensing committee chose to allow the Santa Clara Inn pub in St Clears, Carmarthenshire, southeast Wales, to remain open and refrained from banning gaffer Richard Pearce.
Police had urged Carmarthenshire Council to close down the premises for three months and remove Mr Pearce as the 'designated premises supervisor', reports WalesOnline.
Officers had caught him serving punters during the heart of the pandemic twice in one day - a week after council officers had paid the rogue operator a visit due to allegations he was breaching lockdown restrictions.
