Prince Charles and son Harry did not stop a phone call between the pair from taking place before news of Camilla's future role as Queen Consort was announced over the weekend.

According to The Mirror, sources close to the Prince of Wales have said that he spoke to both of his sons prior to The Queen's announcement on Saturday.

The Queen told how it was her “sincere wish” for Camilla to be made Queen Consort when her reign ends – in the same month her Platinum Jubilee celebrations began.Sources have claimed that the relationship, which was thought to be strained, has thawed recently with several “good-natured and enjoyable” video calls taking place between Charles, Camilla, Harry, Meghan, and the grandchildren. However, it conflicts with what royal expert and critic Daniela Elser reported earlier this week.Writing for news.com.au, she said: “We have now had more than 48 hours of reaction, news follow-ups and think pieces and not one comment from either brother about their stepmother’s elevation has emerged with not even the usual ‘sources close to the royal’ popping up.“This is hardly a ringing endorsement of the historically significant promotion their stepmother has just received.“William and Harry have both had a long time to get some sort of anaemic statement (or statements) ready.“And yet, clearly they have no intention of offering any sort of public support here.”Although, the Duke of Cambridge retweeted the Queen's announcement on the Cambridge's official account, appearing to show a form of support for Camilla to be Queen. At the time of writing, there has not been an announcement on the Archewell Foundation's website, set up by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's team.
