Piers Morgan has admitted that Prince Charles and Camilla were mortified after one of Camilla’s artworks ended up in his possession. The journalist met with Camilla Parker Bowles earlier this year and was told that she and Prince Charles were recently left “horrified”.Morgan shared the anecdote in his column and revealed that he had previously purchased one of her artworks at a charity auction.Camilla enjoys painting as a hobby and Piers reportedly owns the only piece of artwork she has ever sold.He recalled: "The Duchess of Cornwall is a keen amateur painter but has only ever sold one of her pictures, a watercolour of a large rhinoceros in the African bush which I bought at a charity auction in 2002 when I was editor of the Daily Mirror and stuck up in my office."In his Sun column, Piers said that Camilla brought up the subject to him upon arrival: “Hello Piers, how’s my rhino?

I hope you’re still taking good care of it?”The 56-year-old presenter originally hung the painting in his office but admitted to Camilla that it now resides somewhere else: “I am, Ma’am.

It’s still hanging proudly on my loo wall!”He noted that she told him that she and Charles used to “see it behind his head” when he did interviews, which they were “always completely horrified” to see.Piers went on to say that the rhinoceros symbolises Camilla’s character as they are known for being “intelligent, thick skinned, resilient, hard working, strong, versatile and protective”.The ex-Good Morning Britain host went on to say that he shares similarities with the future queen consort as they are both “misunderstood” and went on to complement her “warm, incredibly down-to-earth, gregarious” personality. He also called the Duchess of Cornwall “terrific company”.
