PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor will stand down at the end of the season after 40 years in the role. The 75-year-old is set to announce to members that he is laying out a precise timetable for his departure following the completion of the Sports Resolution review into the PFA.
That review has recommended a major overhaul of the organisation, with issues such as the ongoing dementia crisis affecting former footballers and lower league players not getting paid during the coronavirus pandemic becoming key issues.
The PFA are set to begin the search for Taylor's successor at their Annual General Meeting on Thursday. Taylor faced an investigation into the PFA's finances as part of the review, which was launched last year.
