Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes (born 8 September 1994) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP and the Portugal national team as a midfielder. Fernandes started his career at Serie B side Novara Calcio and soon featured for Udinese and Sampdoria in Serie A.

In 2017, he signed with Sporting CP where he established himself as one of the best players in the Primeira Liga. He was named the LPFP Primeira Liga Player of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. In the latter season, he also helped Sporting win the Taça de Portugal. A senior international since 2017, Fernandes represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Harry Maguire has admitted to feeling "embarrassed" after finally ending Manchester United's woeful record from corners this season.Prior to Sunday's win away to Leeds United, the Red Devils had taken 139 corners without scoring in the Premier League, despite hiring a specific set-piece coach in the summer.The club had been the subject of ridicule after struggling to score from corners this season following the arrival of Eric Ramsay in pre-season.However, their baron run from corners has now come to an end after Maguire headed home a Luke Shaw delivery to give United the lead at Elland Road on Sunday.Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Maguire reflected on the unwanted record and admitted it was "embarrassing"."Every time I see the stat I feel embarrassed myself," explained the United captain."I’m a big part in that set-play routine and trying to score from corners but as a team, as a group, we’ve been nowhere near good enough."It’s a big part of the game and for sure if we score more from corners and set-plays we’ll be higher in the table.Will Manchester United finish in the top four this season?
