Jay Baruchel, host of hit show LOL: Last One Laughing Canada, from Boat Rocker’s Insight Productions, is expanding his relationship with the entertainment company. The actor, writer, producer and director has closed a first-look deal with Boat Rocker to develop and produce original television, film and digital projects for the company.

Last week, the Broadway play All In: Comedy About Love got very dramatic about money – weekly box office, specifically, with grosses topping $1 million, an impressive feat for any play not named Mary. Figure in that All In isn’t really a play at all, but a collection of readings by the short comic fiction writer Simon Rich and I thought the box office tally seemed something akin to a Christmas miracle.

Frank Rizzo There’s a cozy ease that permeates “All In,” in which a rotating cast of celebs narrates, with both flourish and offhandedness, the humorous and offbeat essays of The New Yorker writer Simon Rich. It’s the kind of comic comfort that easily fits into the holiday period but also into a Broadway season that is especially welcoming to laughter. But “All In” brings a different kind of comedy to the stage, a gentler kind of wit, packaged at a modest length and in a minimalist form, though elegantly staged by Alex Timbers and designed by a theatrical A-team: David Korins (sets), Jake DeGroot (lights), Peter Hylenski (sound), and Jennifer Moeller (costumes), among them.

Before John Mulaney and Simon Rich were selling out previews for Broadway’s All In, they were being “united by the collective trauma” of working for then-head writer at Saturday Night Live Seth Meyers.

The build-up to Christmas is being very generous with Broadway. In some cases, very, very generous. BreAnna Bell TBS original comedy “Miracle Workers” has been canceled after four seasons, Variety has confirmed. The cancellation comes just months after the series finale aired in August. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, Season 4 (aptly titled “End Times”) of the anthology comedy picked up with wasteland warrior (Daniel Radcliffe) and a ruthless warlord (Geraldine Viswanathan) as they face the most dystopian nightmare of all: settling down in the suburbs.

TBS has set a summer premiere date for Season 4 of its anthology comedy series Miracle Workers. Miracle Workers: End Times will debut Monday, July 10 at 10 PM. As we previously reported, TBS, in January, had pushed the premiere dates for several series, including Miracle Workers, which initially had been slotted for January 16, amid TNets’ original programming overhaul. TBS also released a first-look teaser of the upcoming season (watch above).

After debuting the first footage from Paul King’s Wonka at CinemaCon last year, Warner Bros showed off an extended trailer today for the Christmas 2023 release. The origins story stars Timothée Chalamet as the titular candymeister, who lands in a mid-European city (the pic was shot in London) after traveling the world perfecting his craft. “I’m something of a magician, inventor and chocolate maker,” he says.
