The “Mean Girls” movie musical is headed for the big screen. ET can confirm the film will now be treated to a theatrical release, following initial news that the project would go straight to streaming.

The Season 2 renewal of Watson today left two CBS scripted series on the bubble, veteran drama The Equalizer and freshman comedy Poppa’s House. The good news is that conversations on both are continuing; the bad news is that both are looking at an already packed 2025-26 CBS slate with little room left. And while their ratings have been OK, the numbers are in a range of CBS shows that already have been canceled as the network is facing tough cancellation decisions for a second year in a row as its scripted lineup has been performing.

All In: Comedy About Love, the Simon Rich play with a revolving Broadway cast, broke the Hudson Theatre house record for a play last week, with more than a little help from Jimmy Fallon.

Late night TV star and former SNL regular Jimmy Fallon made his Broadway debut last night, even if it won’t be particularly a long-running gig. Fallon will do eight performances of All In: Comedy About Love, Simon Rich‘s episodic tales of love that features an ever-evolving cast week after week.

Rebecca Rubin Senior Film and Media Reporter Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creative mind behind “Hamilton” and “In the Heights,” is returning to Broadway in “All In: Comedy About Love.” The play, penned by former “Saturday Night Live” writer Simon Rich, will feature a rotating cast of stars, including Jimmy Fallon, Andrew Rannells, Aidy Bryant and Tim Meadows. Miranda will take over for John Mulaney, who will lead the cast of Fred Armisen, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Richard Kind, for the show’s first five weeks on Broadway. Mulaney will star in “All In” at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre from Dec.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Tim Meadows is set to star in the CBS comedy pilot “DMV,” Variety has learned. The single-camera comedy pilot was originally announced at the broadcaster in August. The show is based on a short story by Katherine Heiny.

It looks like “fetch” really is not going to happen, and Lacey Chabert, who memorably portrayed Gretchen Wieners in the teen classic Mean Girls, should stop trying to make it happen — according to her daughter, who naturally had no idea what the term referenced.
