Julia Stiles makes surprise ‘SNL’ cameo in ‘Save the Last Dance’ sketch
made a surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” during “Weekend Update,” recreating the final dance in “Save the Last Dance” with cast member Chloe Fineman.The segment begins with Fineman, 35, dressed in a Christmas robe to introduce “sexy” Christmas ideas.“The perfect holiday gift this year is the dance that Julia Stiles does at the end of the 2001 movie ‘Save the Last Dance,’” Fineman says while shrugging off the robe to reveal an all-black outfit reminiscent of the one Stiles, 42, wore at the end of the film. Fineman proceeds to go into a full routine, which she dubs “Street/Ballet,” that recalls the film’s final dance.She also recaps the movie’s plot, which follows Sara (Stiles), who unsuccessfully auditions for Juilliard, moves to Chicago, and meets Derek (Sean Patrick Thomas), who helps her pursue her Juilliard dreams.“So does she get into Juilliard?” asks “Weekend Update” co-host Colin Jost, 41.At that moment, Stiles appears in the same all-black outfit and responds with a resounding “Yes!” “Sara did get into Juilliard,” Stiles said as “SNL” audience members shrieked in delight.
