Pat Saperstein Deputy Editor Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunited at the “SNL50” anniversary celebration for a star-studded segment framed around a Q&A segment in which they took “Saturday Night Live” questions from the audience.
Among the audience members they called on were Ryan Reynolds, Cher, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Quinta Brunson, Jon Hamm and Tim Meadows. “Ryan Reynolds, how’s it going?” asked Fey and Poehler, to which he answered innocently, “Why?
Have you heard something?” appearing to reference the recent Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal controversy. Reynolds went on to ask whether the material the Coneheads’ heads were made from was edible, and Fey and Poehler decided it was almost certainly very toxic.
The segment included a direct mention to the question that has swirled around “Saturday Night Live,” especially as the show has had a rebound in popularity over the past decade: When will Lorne Michaels retire?
