Tracy Morgan to Star as Disgraced Football Player in NBC Comedy Pilot From Tina Fey and ’30 Rock’ Producers

Ethan Shanfeld Tracy Morgan will star as a disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image in a new NBC comedy pilot.

The series hails from Tina Fey and other “30 Rock” alums, including Fey’s co-showrunner Robert Carlock and writer Sam Means, as well as producers Eric Gurian and David Miner.

Carlock and Means are the writers of the new pilot starring Morgan, which is also directed and executive produced by Rhys Thomas.

No other casting has been announced. The single-camera pilot comes from Universal Television and production companies Little Stranger, Bevel Gears and 3 Arts.
