Since he rejoined in 2016, they have released a handful of new tracks, including ‘Absurd’, ‘Hard Skool’, ‘Precious’ and ‘The General’, but there has been no confirmation of a further album.But now Slash has now told the Daily Star (via Music News) that plans are afoot to change that.“Guns N’ Roses are trying to make their own record,” he said, when asked why he didn’t invite Axl Rose onto his own solo album.

Morrissey has said he has bought back the rights to two of his albums, after a long-running dispute with his label Capitol Records.The former Smiths frontman has been locked in battle with Capitol for a number of years, after his album ‘Bonfire Of Teenagers’ went unreleased, despite being completed in 2021.The album had been announced for a 2023 release on Capitol, but Morrissey later said he had “voluntarily withdrawn from any association with Capitol Records”. He also revealed that Miley Cyrus, who recorded backing vocals for the track ‘I Am Veronica’ in 2020, had asked to have her vocals removed from the song.But now, in a post on his website Morrissey Central, titled ‘A Rush And A Push And The Music Is Ours’, in reference to a 1987 Smiths song, he has said that he has bought the rights to release that album.“Morrissey has paid the exit fee to Capitol Records in order to return both WORLD PEACE IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS and BONFIRE OF TEENAGERS albums back to him,” the post reads.“It’s been a long, hard, bloody war.

MC5 manager John Sinclair has died, aged 82.His representative, Matt Lee, confirmed the late poet and political activist’s passing this morning (April 2) at Detroit Receiving Hospital following congestive heart failure, reports The Detroit News.Sinclair was an influential activist who was best known for his fight toward legalising marijuana in the US and for his role in MC5. Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan has revealed how Iggy Pop helped him through a “bad mushroom trip” when he was a teenager.While appearing on the Rockonteurs podcast, hosted by Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp and esteemed session musician Guy Pratt, McKagan opened up about the event that occurred when he was 14 years old and how the former Stooges frontman helped him out.“Iggy Pop got me through a bad mushroom trip. Pearl Jam‘s Mike McCready has teased the band’s forthcoming album, revealing that it’s “heavier than you’d expect”.The band’s record-in-progress is the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Gigaton’ and McCready offered some details about the album in a recent interview with Classic Rock.“I’m hoping it’s gonna come out [in 2024],” McCready said. “We have a bunch of songs tracked. Duran Duran, Blondie and Interpol have been announced as the headliners of Cruel World Festival 2024. The festival revealed its 2024 line-up yesterday (December 4), which will also feature ‘80s and ‘80s post-punk, new wave and alternative rock veterans, including Simple Minds, Placebo, Soft Cell, Adam Ant, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Ministry, who will perform songs from their earliest albums, ‘With Sympathy’ and ‘Twitch’.
