Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Frank Ferrer shares “disappointment” following his exit from the band
Guns N’ Roses drummer Frank Ferrer has shared his “disappointment” over his recent exit from the band.Earlier this week, Ferrer – who was once the longest-serving sticksman in the band, having joined in 2006 to replace Bryan Mantia – left after 19 years.A statement made on social media described the move as an “amicable exit” with the group thanking Ferrer for his “friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years”.“Frank first joined GNR during a show in June 2006,” it continued, “helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan.”A day later, the stadium rockers took to social media once again to reveal that AWOLNATION‘s Isaac Carpenter had joined the band as his replacement. Carpenter has been part of AWOLNATION’s set-up since 2014, and he had also previously worked with GNR’s bassist Duff McKagan’s band Loaded, Adam Lambert and A Perfect Circle. Now, Ferrer has shared an update with fans on Instagram, where he expressed gratitude for his time in the band as well as dismay that it had come to an end.“The outpouring of love I have felt from the incredible fans of Guns N’ Roses and my peers over the past 24 hours has been tremendous,” he wrote, tagging the band’s official page.“I will have immense gratitude and love always for Axl and the band while at the same time, disappointment that this chapter came to an end.“It has been an incredible 19 years.
