Porno For Pyros have announced that they will soon release ‘Agua’, their first new song in 26 years.The LA-formed alt-rock band will share ‘Agua’ on November 16. It’s the first single taken from a new EP that’s released in February.Porno For Pyros, who formed in 1992 followed the first break-up of Jane’s Addiction, last released an album – ‘Good God’s Urge’ – in 1996.News of the new single comes after the band postponed an autumn US tour days before it was set to kick off last month.

Perry Farrell has been working on new music with Jane’s Addiction in recent months and has shared his enthusiasm for the new project in a new interview.Speaking to Brazilian radio station 89 A Rádio Rock, Farrell said: “I feel that this new bunch of songs… We don’t know how many we’re gonna put out. But I can tell you one thing: it’s been one of the most exciting times of my life, because these songs are that good.“So, we’re putting something out that I’m listening to and I’m going… What I mean [by] it’s that good… When a musician knows, when he’s hearing something that he says to himself or she says to herself, ‘I can’t wait for people to hear this.’ That’s what I’ve been experiencing.”Drummer Stephen Perkins added: “It’s such a great experience to have not only the space and the time to make music together, but I find it a great challenge to make the best thing we can possibly [make].

Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro will sit out the band’s forthcoming tour with Smashing Pumpkins, as the musician is continuing to suffer from the effects of long COVID.In a message to fans posted on the band’s social media, Navarro confirmed he will not be performing on the tour, as he is still experiencing a “continued battle” with long COVID he has been fighting since December of last year.The guitarist said that while he had hoped for a full recovery by the time the tour started in Dallas this weekend, he is still “very fatigued” and, as such, “will not be able to join this leg”.Navarro added that he was particularly “gutted” about not being able to take part in the tour as original bassist Eric Avery has returned to the fold and the tour would have seen the band’s original lineup reunite. “That will have to wait until I am recovered,” Navarro said.Filling in for Navarro will be Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, whose other projects have included Failure and A Perfect Circle.

Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navaro has explained how he almost joined Guns N’ Roses, but didn’t show up to the audition.Following the break-up of Jane’s Addiction in 1991 and the departure of Izzy Stradlin from Guns N’ Roses, frontman Axl Rose apparently “really wanted” Navaro to join his band.Speaking to the Appetite For Distortion podcast, Navaro explained how they “talked nearly every day about ideas and the way the band could work with me.“At that time in my life though, I just wasn’t present enough to do it,” he added.Navaro then went on to say how he missed his audition to join the band “because I was immersed in my drug addiction and I just simply couldn’t show up in that shape. But it happened the way it happened”.
