Sleaford Mods and Hot Chip have joined forces for a collaborative double single – listen to ‘Nom Nom Nom’ and ‘Cat Burglar’ below.The two bands released the songs today (November 26) as a seven-inch vinyl and on streaming platforms via Friendly Records in aid of War Child. Both tracks were recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.The London group (fronted by Alexis Taylor) invited the Nottingham duo (comprising Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) down to take part in one of Abbey Road’s innovative and groundbreaking Lock-In Sessions – which has been captured in a short film.Lead track ‘Nom Nom Nom’ combines “both acts’ best characteristics, creating a suave yet edgy groove that is as happy on the dancefloor as it is in the mosh-pit”, per a press release.Speaking about the ‘Hot Mods’ collab, Williamson explained: “On the day we went in cold and just handed ourselves over to it.

Sleaford Mods frontman Jason Williamson has spoken to NME about the band’s new material, their £5 tickets for fans on low incomes, his own working-class roots, Oasis’ reunion, his past feud with Noel Gallagher and his thoughts on Keir Starmer’s performance as Prime Minister so far.Williamson was speaking ahead of the Abbey Road Music Photography Awards (MPAs), for which he’d been a judge alongside the likes of founding judge Rankin and Gossip’s Beth Ditto. He described the track as “one of those studio floor clippings that we didn’t feel quite hit the mark at the time, but today sounds great”.It is now available for the first time on streaming services, and will also feature on a one-off flexi-disc with limited edition copies of the reissue of their 2014 record.“We knew what we wanted for the album, and we didn’t feel this was quite right for ‘Divide and Exit’,” said Williamson.

Sleaford Mods have announced a reissue of ‘Divide & Exit’, to celebrate 10 years since its initial release, as well as an intimate UK tour. Check out upcoming shows and ticket details below.Announced today (May 20), the new re-release comes in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the album, and sees the band recall the legacy of the 2014 LP.Originally shared back in May 2014, the album marked the second official album from Andrew Fearn and Jason Williamson – or their sixth if taking early CD-R efforts into account.

The Last Dinner Party, Sleaford Mods and Keane are set to perform at this year’s BRITs Week in aid of War Child.The event, which has been running since 2009, will see artists perform one-off gigs in intimate surroundings. Since its inception, the event has raised £7million for War Child, to help children whose lives have been devastated by war.BRITs Week for War Child will take place in the weeks around The BRIT Awards 2024 on March 2, with artists playing in venues across the capital and beyond.

Bob Vylan have called out “cowardly” bands Sleaford Mods and IDLES for not speaking out in support of Palestine.The comments against the bands came during Bob Vylan’s show in Dublin last night (November 9), when the frontman spoke directly to the crowd to share his support of those caught up in the Palestine/Israel conflict.Referring to some of the distressing scenes shown on the news and social media of those in Gaza, they recalled their annoyance at the “cowardly” bands who claim to be politically-motivated and left-wing, but have stayed silent about the war.“It’s not just local, its world-fucking-news, and we are watching fucking babies being burned…Children being pulled from the rubble of fucking buildings that have been absolutely levelled after spending days under that. Blur have announced that Sleaford Mods and Phil Daniels will be the latest acts joining them at their upcoming shows at Wembley Stadium.The long-awaited shows are set to take place on Saturday July 8 and Sunday July 9, and come ahead of the band’s upcoming ninth studio album ‘The Ballad Of Darren’ — set for release on July 21 via Parlophone and Warner (pre-order here).The first of the two new acts joining the bill is Nottingham post-punk band, Sleaford Mods.
