Tiësto‘s former lawyer, who has been jailed for fraud, is arguing that the DJ should be paying the IRS instead of him – find out more below.Frank Butselaar, the former attorney of Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto is currently serving a 30-month prison sentence for fraud after the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) discovered over $100million concealed in illegal offshore accounts.According to Butselaar and his legal team, per Business Insider, the former attorney had concealed the sum in offshore accounts on behalf of his celebrity clients, who included Tiësto and other DJs like Afrojack.Later this week, Butselaar will return to court over the $28million concealed in the account, which was supposed to be paid in taxes to the IRS over a period of six years. Butselaar argues that his was done at Tiësto’s request, although prosecutors in the case are not accusing the DJ of any wrongdoing.Prosecutors believe Tiësto was unaware that the offshore accounts were illegal, and that he – through court documents – had “voluntarily” paid over nine million in taxes to the IRS.On Thursday (March 13), Butselaar will face the court over the remaining $19million to be paid.

Creamfields has unveiled a new 360° Halo “mega stage” for its upcoming 2025 edition.Last week (October 29), the British festival – which first debuted in 1998 – gave fans their first-look at the newly-minted, Rockstar Energy-sponsored main stage way ahead of its debut at Creamfields next year (August 21-24).The Halo stage is the “evolution of Runway”, its existing main stage that’s existed since 2022 up to this year’s edition at Daresbury, Cheshire – which featured Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, Peggy Gou, Martin Garrix and Tiësto, among others.The new stage will feature “a monumental 45 metre diameter, cyclical outdoor arena with pioneering 360 and overhead video, lighting and sound”, which was designed in partnership with design studio Lucid Creates.Halo is the festival’s newest stage addition after this year’s APEX stage, which was touted as the largest indoor festival superstructure in the world.Last month (October 4), two men were given prison sentences after being found with ketamine-filled Kinder Eggs in their bums at Creamfields 2024.Sniffer dogs alerted police as the pair were about the enter the event through the North gate. Outkast are reportedly suing an EDM duo named ATLiens in an apparent “brand protection issue” concerning their name, attorneys representing their trademark holding company state.Per AllNewHipHop, High Schoolers LLC, the trademark holding company of André 3000 and Big Boi, have filed a lawsuit against ATLiens Touring, Inc. claiming the hip-hop duo first coined the term “ATLiens” and had already got it trademarked in 1996.According to court documents via AllNewHipHop, the EDM duo registered the ATLiens name in 2020 as a service mark with the US patent office, claiming that they had been using the name since 2012.
