The group were performing at iconic New York nightspot CBGB in the 1970s when the show was suddenly interrupted, and they suspect it was partly to make a video of their gig look even "better". Discussing memories of CBGB, singer Debbie Harry told Vulture: "Right before we went on the tour with David Bowie and Iggy Pop, there was a firing squad that came in.

On Friday, Mike Hadreas a.k.a. Perfume Genius will share his new album Ugly Season. The new music was created more collaboratively than ever before, beginning as a soundtrack for a dance piece by Kate Wallich and Hadreas called The Sun Still Burns Here with producer Blake Mills and Hadreas's partner Alan Wyffels contributing to the composition.

Iggy Pop has led the tributes to the guitarist Ricky Gardiner, who has passed away at the age of 73.The Scottish musician’s death was confirmed last night (May 15) by Tony Visconti, who told his Facebook followers that he was informed of Gardiner’s passing by his wife Virginia.“Another guitar genius and personal friend passed into the next world last night,” Viscontii wrote. “Ricky Gardiner, who joined David Bowie for the albums ‘Low’ and Iggy Pop’s ‘The Idiot’, ended a long battle with Parkinson’s.

Rock 'n' roll star Liam Gallagher has allowed cameras behind the scenes as he records in the studio with his sons Lennon and Gene for a new documentary film.
