Ashton played Detective Sergeant John Taggart in the first two installments of the “Beverly Hills Cop” series, released in 1984 and 1987, alongside Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold.

Movie star legend, Charles Cyphers, has sadly passed away at the age of 85 after a battle with a brief illness.Tributes have flooded in for the actor, who was best known for starring in the Halloween franchise, with his former co-star left distraught by the news. Charles appeared in the 1978 movie Halloween as Sheriff Leigh Brackett and reprised his role in the 1981 sequel Halloween II and 2021’s Halloween Kills. His manager, Chris Roe shared the heartbreaking news that Charles passed away on Sunday, 4 August in Tucson, Arizona.

Elizabeth MacRae, known for her recurring roles in General Hospital and Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., has died. She was 88.

Actress Lynne Marta has sadly passed away age 78 following a battle with brain cancer. The American star, best known for starring in Footloose and ER, died in Los Angeles on 11 January, her friend Chris Saint-Hilaire told The Hollywood Reporter. Lynne's impressive career spanned four decades and she starred in films such as Joe Kidd and Footloose as well as TV shows including Love, American Style, Starsky & Hutch, Barnaby Jones, The F.B.I.

The Hollywood Reporter that Marta died Thursday in her Los Angeles home after a battle with cancer.Survivors include her sister, MJ, and her cat, Mr. Peaches, the outlet reports. The Post has contacted a rep for Marta for comment.

His friend and caretaker Marc Bahan announced his death on Facebook, writing that he was “above all a great guy who would do anything for anyone. My dear friend, you will be terribly missed.” Maharis co-starred with Martin Milner in the early 1960s series “Route 66,” and received an Emmy nomination for his role as Buz, a handsome beatnik-adjacent working class man. Shot on location across the U.S., the crime drama portrayed two young men who travel around in a Corvette, looking for work and adventure as they struggle to find themselves. Part way through the third season, Maharis left the show after being hospitalized for hepatitis. He asserted later in an interview that his departure wasn’t because he wanted a higher salary or wanted to get into movies, but strictly for his health.

George Maharis, the Route 66 actor that left the series during the height of its popularity, died on Wednesday, May 24. He was 94.

Sharon Acker, best known as Lee Marvin’s unfaithful wife in the 1967 film Point Blank, died March 16 in a Toronto residential home. She was 87 and her death was confirmed by daughter Kim Everest, a casting director. 

Lisa Loring, who was the first actress to play Wednesday Addams, died on Saturday, January 28. She was 64.

Ben Masters, the actor best known for his role as Julian Crane on the old NBC soap Passions, died January 11 at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Springs. He was 75.
